The men meet on Thursdays from 6 pm to 7 pm in the pastor’s office.
To better understand our times—and to act upon that understanding—the Men’s Group plans to begin Dr. Francis Schaeffer’s 10-part video series How Should We Then Live?
We’ll start each meeting with prayer. Handouts will inform our prayer, highlighting things to look for, key events and persons, definitions of important terms, and questions for that episode. After a slide introduction, we’ll watch the episode, discuss, pray, and close at 7 PM.
Episode 1 takes us to ancient Rome. The Roman Empire was a land of diversity, pluralism, and religious tolerance. Yet in this society, Christians were thrown to the lions. Why? As Rome gave way to the Middle Ages, as told in Episode 2, Europe became known as “Christendom,” or Christ’s kingdom. Yet even in this culture, the Bible began to lose some of its rightful authority, a trend accelerated by the teachings of Thomas Aquinas. What happened?
